I need to meet Nana Addo to discuss Ghana’s economy – Sarkodie

Ghanaian rapper Michael Owusu Addo, known in showbiz as Sarkodie, has requested to have a meeting with the President, Nana Akufo-Addo.
According to him, he wants to meet the President to have a discussion on why ‘things are hard’ in the country.
He however added that in the absence of a meeting with Nana Addo, he would resort to releasing songs to address his concerns.
“I need one on one with the president and people in power to have a convo on the economy if there’s a long-term plan that’s causing the hardship now or things are hard for no reason… else inflation x Masses Part 2,” he wrote.
A few years ago, Sarkodie released ‘Inflation’ and ‘Masses’ to touch on pertinent issues bothering the ordinary Ghanaian.
Last week, he took to Twitter, addressing issues of poor African leadership in a litany of posts.
In one of his posts, he suggested that what could possibly be the solution to Africa’s problems is dictatorship.
“What we need at this point might seem like dictatorship and will feel uncomfortable since we have enjoyed temporal freedom for a minute, but we need drastic measures to survive,” he tweeted.
This is not the first time an artiste is requesting to meet the president. Shatta Wale on his birthday in October 2017, tweeted at Nana Addo, to invite him to the Jubilee House, and his request was granted.

Legendary Ghanaian rapper and CEO of Sarkcess Music recently dropped his much-publicized “Biibi Ba” and as expected by many music lovers all over Ghana and beyond, it was lit which has made many music lovers ask questions whether Sarkodie, like Strongman and Akwaboah, going to sign some of these talented lyricists on his record label.

In an interview today with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, Sarkodie revealed that he can’t sign any of them unto his record label.
According to Sark, he’s reluctant to sign and shape the career of these rising artists but is ever ready to help them in any way possible.
“Signing any of the artists I featured on Biibi Ba will be hard for me now. However, I will be there for them if they need verses on their tracks,” Sarkodie said in the interview.

‘I am still single’ – Yvonne Okoro declares

Ghanaian actress Yvonne Okoro has disclosed in a recent interview that she is still without a man even though she is ageing.
She has been linked with the likes of Criss Waddle,John Paintsil and other celebrities but according to the actress they are all rumors .
During the interview, a listener posed the question, “Did Criss Waddle buy her a car, are they dating?” Yvonne in her response to the questions said, “
Did he buy me a car?” she laughed and added, “He can afford to buy me a car though so maybe hey, Criss, what’s up, can you buy me a car? I don’t know if that answers the question.”
Reacting to her relationship with Criss Waddle, she said, “Oh yeah! we are, we are totally in love, we’re planning on getting married, we have done so many great things together and he is my boo. Hey boo!”
“Are you guys happy now because when I said no, they continuously doubt me so now I’m tired of saying no so you know what, we are dating, we are in love,” she added.

Award winning rapper,Sarkodie has finally disclosed why he composed ‘My Advice’ song.
It would be recalled that in October this year,social media was on fire as the BET award winner released a diss song directed at the self acclaimed dancehall king,Shatta Wale.
Sarkodie released the diss song due to the numerous attacks by Shatta Wale on him.
The ‘Advice’ diss track amassed several reactions on social media as majority heaped praises on Sarkodie for silencing Shatta Wale.
Sarkodie in an interview on Accra-based radio station disclosed that Shatta Wale made disrespectful comments about him on social media instead of calling him to address the issue.
“If he is a friend that you keep in touch with all the time and he keeps passing comments on social media all in the name of showbiz, how would you feel?”
I get it. It’s showbiz but we have a friendship to keep. As much as I would want to do showbiz, there are some things that I would like to call you personally and resolve” he said

Diminutive Kumawood actor, Yaw Dabo, has expressed disappointment in Ghana’s ‘Highest’ rapper, Sarkodie for ignoring him after featuring him in one of his music videos.
According to Dabo, the rapper had refused to call him after he featured in the video of one of his super hit songs, ‘Gboza’. He had expected that Sarkodie would at least call to say “thank you” to him since the video was dropped in April last year.
Dabo and his colleague actor, Don Little, both featured in the music video which has garnered over two million views on YouTube, according to YEN.com.gh’s checks.
He acted as the main character of the song who was facing challenges in life, thus losing respect from family members. Despite Sarkodie’s neglect, Dabo said he received a sum of GH?1,000 for the video, but still, he was looking forward to the rapper’s direct gratitude message to him.
He stated, however, that he does not know whether that money even came from Sarkodie himself or the producer of the video, adding that the sum was nothing to him.
According to him, if he were to charge Sarkodie, he would have taken nothing less than GH?10,000, but because he took him as his own brother or father, he decided to accept the GH?1,000.
“I really feel sad that Sark, my own father, after the video has not even taken a phone to call to say thank you. I really feel sorry,” YEN.com.gh heard Dabo complain in the video in the Twi language.

Facts have emerged on how a middle aged man, simply known as Davy, died in a popular hotel in Lagos during a sex competition with a lady.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the popular hotel located in Ikotun area of Lagos where the deceased took the lady identified as Loveth for the competitive romp.
It was gathered that the late Davy had argued with Loveth on who among the duo can last longer during a sex romp. Both claimed that they were stronger and refused to admit defeat.
During the argument, Davy staked N50,000 between him and Loveth on the condition that if Loveth will defeat him during the romp, she will take the money.
Loveth agreed knowing fully that such money was staked. She then got prepared, moved into the hotel and booked for a chalet.
It was gathered that while it lasted Davy went through to the sixth round but Loveth was unshaken till the seventh round when Davy collapsed and died on top of her.
She then raised alarm and contacted the hotel management who handed her over to the Ikotun Police Division while the corpse of the deceased was deposited at an undisclosed hospital for autopsy report.
However, Loveth was later transferred to the SCIID Panti Yaba, where she informed the police what transpired between her and late Davy.
It was gathered that the fate of Loveth will depend on the outcome of the autopsy report. From the report, it will be determined if she is culpable and may be charged to court for murder.

The question on the lips of many music lovers who turned up in their numbers to support Kuami Eugene recently at the VIP car park of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium was “Where is Mzvee?” Many of such music lovers zionfelix.net had an interaction with at the event wondered why they have heard little of the ‘Come and See My Moda’ hitmaker in recent times.

 Also, others were surprised that they didn’t see MzVee at the concert because she is on the same Lynx Entertainment Record label with the born Rock Star. Kuami Eugene and MzVee, until this concert of the former, had always been spotted together on almost all the tours or concert either of them was billed to perform.

 Even though the ‘Natural Girl’ hitmaker was missing in action, Kidi, the other artiste on the record label was fully represented. The likes of Kwesi Arthur, Okyeame Kwame, Adina, Bless Gh, Strongman Burner, DopeNation, and many others were also with Kuami Eugene to sell a great show to all the fans who decided to show up for the concert.
The million dollar question still remains, Where is Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, better known by her stage name MzVee? Since the last, that was heard of her music-wise, was about over a month ago.

Princess Shyngle hospitalised after alleged suicide attempt in Lagos

Ghana-based Gambian actress Princess Shyngle has reportedly been hospitalised after an alleged suicide attempt in Lagos.
According to Instablog9a, the voluptuous actress was rescued by a neighbour who rushed her to Vedic Life care Hospital in Lekki after discovering that she took an overdose of a medication and drank bleach.
The 27-year-old actress is said to have been sent to the emergency room. She is reportedly responding to treatment.
It is unclear what might have compelled the actress to attempt to take her own life but the actress has in the past opened up about being suicidal indicating that whenever she is faced with disappointments, the first thought that comes to mind is to end her own life
“I cannot take disappointments. When I want something or I am looking for something and things do not work out well, the next thought that comes to mind is to commit suicide,” she stated in an interview with a Ghanaian-based newspaper in August 2017.
She also revealed that she’s been battling with these thoughts since she was eighteen years old and what triggered it was a near death experience that her father experienced.
‘’It started when I was about 18 years or so. I almost lost my dad through a fire outbreak and just the thought alone made me want to kill myself. I couldn’t see myself living my life without him and thought the best thing was to go with him,” she told Graphic Showbiz.

Kumawood actor Agya Koo has said players in the movie Industry deliberately conspired and plotted his downfall after he refused to go naked in a movie in which he depicted the legendary Komfo Anokye.
According to him, he stormed out of the movie set upon the insistence of the director that he go naked in a river – something Agya Koo said he vehemently argued and stood against.
After that incident, Agya Koo said all movie producers and directors in Kumawood ganged up against him and boycotted all films in which he starred or had anything to do with.
“I have no equal in the movie industry”, Agya Koo boasted to journalists recently during the launch of Agya Koo TV, adding: “I’m a real heavyweight with no worthy contender”.
“My acting talent towers above all in the industry; not even Lil Win comes any close to me”, he said.

More than 100 people have died in clashes between rival ethnic groups in northwestern Democratic Republic of Congo this week, local activists said on Wednesday.
The fighting in Mai-Ndombe province is some of the worst to hit the normally peaceful area in years and comes days before Sunday’s long-delayed presidential, legislative and provincial elections, which many fear could turn violent.
The fighting between the Batende and Banunu ethnic groups broke out on Sunday over the disputed location of a Banunu chief’s burial, said Jules Bango, an activist in the town of Yumbi, on the banks of the Congo River.
“Today we have identified almost 120 deaths, and there are 71 others wounded in the hospital,” Bango told Reuters. Many people had fled across the river into neighbouring Congo Republic, he added.
Another local activist, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the death toll could rise as high as 150. He said the upcoming elections, in which Batende leaders are supporting the ruling coalition and Banunu leaders are backing opposition candidates, have raised tensions between the two groups.
Mai-Ndobe’s governor did not respond immediately to requests for comment.

Universe huncho act, Trigg is back with a bang in this crisp audio-visual release titled “Ride or Die” featuring Iyanya.
Born on December 8 in the mid-nineties, TRIGG (real names Kensington Womadi) is a singer, rapper and music producer of Nigerian descent.


He was signed to Great Music Group in 2014 under the brand name ‘LordTrigg’. After a successful stint in fashion the same year, he took a break from the music frontline in order to re-brand himself. His reemergence on the music scene in 2018 came with the announcement of a new record deal signing with gods Universe, and an identity rebirth to which a new stage moniker, TRIGG, was formed.
In August of 2018, Trigg released his first official single titled ‘Al Pacino’ obviously inspired by the 80’s movie blockbuster, Scar Face. The video was shot in South Africa’s Cape Town, garnering commercial reception and positive reviews from music fans and pundits. Now he resurfaces with “Ride or Die” – a statement-filled concept executed in HD and featuring the dulcet melodies of Afro vibes sensation, Iyanya.


Trigg is setting the tone of awareness for the Afro-Trap genre with content releases seeping gradually onto world consciousness. This manifesto is already being packaged into a mixtape scheduled to drop in 2019.
